Product Overview

The NPS01-F60 AC 1P Surge Protective Device is a high-capacity Type 2 (Class II) surge protection device designed for demanding distribution systems requiring enhanced surge current handling capability. It complies with EN/IEC 61643-11 and GB/T 18802.11 standards and has passed Type 2 test certification. With a single-pole 36mm modular design, this SPD delivers a nominal discharge current In of 30kA (8/20μs) and a maximum discharge current Imax of 60kA, providing robust protection against induced lightning surges and switching overvoltages. The 35mm DIN rail mounting and Uc coverage from 275V to 440V make it suitable for industrial control panels, power distribution centers, and renewable energy systems where higher surge currents are expected.

Inside the unit, a large-diameter high-energy zinc oxide varistor chip provides superior energy tolerance and fast response, effectively suppressing induced overvoltages and switching transients. The larger chip size ensures stable performance even after multiple high-current surge events, extending the operational life of the device. Each pole is equipped with an independent thermal disconnector that reliably isolates the faulty pole from the circuit if the unit becomes overloaded or ages, preventing fire or short-circuit hazards. A red/green status indicator window on the front panel shows operating status at a glance – green indicates normal operation, while red indicates failure and the need for replacement. The current path uses high-purity copper with tin-plated terminals, ensuring low contact resistance, high surge current capacity, and minimal temperature rise under 60kA surge conditions. The housing is made of UL94V-0 red thermoplastic material with an IP20 protection rating, meeting industrial insulation safety requirements.

This series offers an Up voltage protection level as low as 1.5kV and a response time of ≤25ns, delivering low residual voltage and high protection accuracy. It is recommended to pair this device with a 125A gG back-up fuse to achieve optimal selective coordination between upstream and downstream protection stages, preventing nuisance tripping of upstream breakers during lightning strikes. An optional normally open/normally closed floating changeover contact for remote signaling (AC 250V/0.5A) is available, supporting connection to building management or monitoring systems for remote status tracking. The device operates within -40°C to +80°C and 5% to 95% humidity, and accommodates conductors from 4mm² to 35mm². This makes it a robust solution for high-capacity secondary surge protection in demanding distribution systems.
