Product Overview

The NPS01-F120 AC 3P Surge Protective Device is a flagship Type 2 (Class II) surge protection device developed for critical three-phase three-wire power distribution systems. It complies with EN/IEC 61643-11 and GB/T 18802.11 standards and is certified to Type 2/Class II requirements. The product features a three-pole integrated modular design, with each phase delivering a nominal discharge current In of 60kA (8/20μs) and a maximum discharge current Imax of 120kA. The L1-PE, L2-PE, and L3-PE poles operate independently, providing comprehensive common-mode overvoltage protection for three-phase three-wire systems with extreme surge exposure. The 108mm triple-pole width fits standard 35mm DIN rail mounting, with Uc covering 275V to 440V. It is widely used in heavy industrial variable frequency drives, photovoltaic inverters, wind power converters, and other critical three-phase three-wire systems requiring the highest level of secondary surge protection.

Each phase uses an independent flagship-grade extra-large diameter high-energy zinc oxide varistor chip with ultimate energy tolerance, low leakage current, and fast response time, effectively suppressing both phase-to-phase and phase-to-ground extreme-magnitude induced lightning surges and switching overvoltages. The three-pole independent design ensures that if one phase fails, the other two phases continue to operate normally, preventing a single point of failure from causing complete system shutdown. Each pole is independently equipped with a thermal disconnector and a red/green status indicator window – green indicates normal operation, while red indicates failure and the need for replacement, making fault phase identification immediate and straightforward. The conductive busbar is stamped from high-purity T2 copper with tin plating, ensuring low contact resistance and high surge current capacity. The UL94V-0 red thermoplastic housing with IP20 protection rating meets industrial insulation safety requirements.

This series offers an Up voltage protection level as low as 2.0kV and a response time of ≤25ns, combining low residual voltage with high protection accuracy. A 200A gG back-up fuse is recommended to achieve optimal selective coordination between upstream and downstream protection stages, preventing nuisance tripping during lightning strikes and ensuring continuity of industrial power supply. An optional normally open/normally closed floating changeover contact for remote signaling (AC 250V/0.5A) is available, supporting connection to PLC or building management systems for remote centralized monitoring. The device operates within -40°C to +80°C and 5% to 95% humidity, and accommodates conductors from 4mm² to 35mm². With 35mm DIN rail mounting, this is the ultimate configuration for flagship-level secondary surge protection in critical three-phase three-wire industrial distribution systems.
