Product Overview

The NPS01-F120 AC 1+1P Surge Protective Device is a flagship Type 2 (Class II) surge protection device specifically developed for critical TT and IT unearthed power distribution systems. It complies with EN/IEC 61643-11 and GB/T 18802.11 standards and has passed Type 2 test certification. The product features a 1+1 protection architecture combining a phase-line high-energy varistor with a neutral-line dedicated spark gap, delivering a nominal discharge current In of 60kA (8/20μs) and a maximum discharge current Imax of 120kA. This configuration provides independent L-PE and N-PE surge path protection with ultimate capacity, perfectly matching the requirements of critical unearthed distribution systems with extreme surge exposure. The 72mm double-pole width fits standard 35mm DIN rail mounting, with Uc covering 275V to 440V (NPE mode 255V). It is widely used in major medical facilities, industrial control systems, and data centers that adopt TT or IT earthing configurations and require the highest surge current handling capability.

The phase circuit uses a flagship-grade extra-large diameter high-energy zinc oxide varistor chip that responds quickly and maintains low residual voltage, effectively suppressing extreme-magnitude induced lightning surges. The neutral-to-earth circuit employs a dedicated high-capacity gas discharge gap module, which operates with zero leakage current and zero power consumption under normal conditions – eliminating neutral line drift and system interference issues common in TT/IT systems. The two-stage protection elements are precisely energy-coordinated, ensuring no follow current and no blind spots between stages. Each pole is independently equipped with a thermal disconnector and a red/green status indicator window. Single-pole failure triggers automatic isolation without affecting the other pole, making fault location quick and intuitive. The conductive busbar is stamped from high-purity T2 copper with tin plating, ensuring low contact resistance and high surge current capacity. The housing is made of UL94V-0 red thermoplastic material with an IP20 protection rating.

This series offers an Up voltage protection level as low as 2.0kV, with a phase-mode response time of ≤25ns and an N-PE mode response time of ≤100ns, combining low residual voltage with high protection accuracy. A 200A gG back-up fuse is recommended to achieve optimal selective coordination between upstream and downstream protection stages. An optional normally open/normally closed floating changeover contact for remote signaling (AC 250V/0.5A) is available, supporting connection to building management or monitoring systems for remote status tracking. The device operates within -40°C to +80°C and 5% to 95% humidity, and accommodates conductors from 4mm² to 35mm².
